We need more information
published: Monday | February 20, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM concerned about the constitutional changes and any potential for restriction of the right to the freedom of religion. This right ought to be paramount in any constitutional changes.

Unless my religion does things like human sacrifice and polygamy, I should be free to practise, preach and teach it, unless it significantly imposes on others. Jesus died to give us the freedom to choose, or He would have forced Lucifer and the now fallen angels, as well as Adam and Eve, to obey Him, and no sin would exist at all.

WHEN WILL THE PUBLIC SEE?

I am also concerned about the potential to allow homosexual marriages. What I don't understand is, when will the general public be allowed to see the WHOLE of the proposed constitutional changes, so we can see each specific, detailed clause that could cause such horrific atrocities?

Neither the Government nor anyone else has allowed us to view the full, unedited, not-only-partially-quoted, information. All I know of it is one phrase about the right to privacy at home and I can easily see how that could lead to homo-sexuality being legalised, but not how it would cause religious schools to be required to stop religious instructions and devotional exercises.

We have a right to more information, especially from the Government.

I am etc.,
