Blair to observe PNP's election
published: Friday | February 24, 2006

BLAIR

POLITICAL OMBUDSMAN, Bishop Herro Blair, said that he will be observing the People's National Party (PNP) presidential election tomorrow, to see how it operates in order to make recommendations.

While pointing out that internal party matters are outside of his jurisdiction, Bishop Blair said he is interested in seeing how internal elections are conducted.

"The political culture in the country needs to be overhauled and everything should be carefully scrutinised so changes that are imminent can be made," he told The Gleaner.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, general secretary of the PNP, Senator Burchell Whiteman, said he does not have a problem with Bishop Blair observing the election.
