Immaculate, Campion set to defend titles
published: Friday | February 24, 2006

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION High School and Campion College are ready to defend their titles at the Mayberry Investments High Schools/Universities Swim Meet which jumps off at the National Stadium pool today.

This year, much like last, the winners of individual events will be offered shares in major companies, with The Gleaner Company and Children's Own being the major sponsors this time around.

With that as one of the perks, Immaculate's girls will be hard pressed to stop the advances of St. Andrew High and Campion College, who were a distant second and third last year.

BATTLE LINES DRAWN

In the boys' competition, the battle lines between Wolmer's and Kingston College were drawn last year as the North Street side beat the Heroes Circle brigade for the first time in many years.

This year, Wolmer's will not only be seeking to reinstate themselves as one of the top two teams in the pool, but they will also be looking for a way to thwart the dominance that Campion's boys have had over the years.

This year will also see the return of Herbert Morrison to activities in the pool. After a long lay-off, they will join 21 schools and 538 swimmers at the meet.
