Two teachers perish in road accident
published: Sunday | February 26, 2006

TWO SCHOOLS will have to resume classes Monday morning without two of their teachers, following a motor vehicle accident on the Petersfield main road in Westmoreland.

According to a police report, Brian Williams, 24, a teacher at the Caledonia Junior High School in St. James, and Dale Bent, 34, a teacher at the Maud McLeod High School in Westmoreland, who were travelling in a Honda Integra motor car south along Shrewsbury Road on to Petersfield main road, failed to stop at the intersection. A Mack trailer, travelling easterly from Frome to Whithorn, impacted the side of the car killing both driver, Bent, and his passenger, Williams.

Reports are that the men were travelling from a wake in Montego Bay of a fireman who was killed in another motor vehicle accident on the Landilo main road in Westmoreland.

The men were rushed to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
