Sinclairs hit ton in runs fest

DONOVAN SINCLAIR

THE SINCLAIR brothers, Matthew and Donovan, each scored a century for Manchester to force a draw against Melbourne in their opening round Supreme Ventures Super Cup match at Melbourne Oval yesterday.

Matthew, who came in at in the very first over of yesterday's final day, and Donovan, who resumed on nine, shared in a 179-run fifth wicket stand which set up Manchester's 423.

Matthew struck 18 fours and two sixes in making an undefeated 155 while Donovan's 103 was laced with 14 fours and two sixes.

Nikita Miller had 5-91, Sheldon Smith 2-60 and Leon Bent 3-83 took the wickets for Melbourne to claim first innings points.

Melbourne made 456-6 declared on the first day with Damion Jacobs 200 not out and Donovan Pagon 121.

AT CHEDWIN PARK:

Former West Indies and Barbados player, Roland Holder, scored two half centuries in Kingston's first innings win over St. Catherine. In their first innings, Kingston made 206 of which Holder made 76, then bowled out St. Catherine for 149 with Nehemiah Perry taking 6-42.

Holder scored 78 in Kingston's second innings of 332-4 declared and was supported by Simon Jackson, 54. Set 389 to win, St. Catherine were 125-3 when the game was called off. Danza Hyatt made 56.

AT NELSON OVAL: Lucas took first innings points from Jamaica Defence Force (JDF). The soldiers first made 131, to which Lucas replied with 263-5. Ryan Smith scored 95 for Lucas.

The JDF were 271-5 at the close, with Mel Wint unbeaten on 137.

AT ALPART:

St. Elizabeth took first innings points from St. Mary.

Damion Ebanks scored 161, Shane Powell, 96, and Brenton Parchment, 58, in St. Elizabeth's 381-5 declared.

St. Mary replied with 223 of which Tyson Gordon scored 77 against Shawn Finday (4-17) and Howard Powell (3-69). Forced to follow-on, St. Mary were 99-4 when stumps were drawn.

In the day's other game, Westmoreland which scored 275, battled gamely to win first innings points from Portland, skittling them out for 240 in a battle between the promoted teams.
