published: Wednesday | March 1, 2006

BAGHDAD (REUTERS):

The chief prosecutor in Saddam Hussein's trial read out documents in court yesterday which, he said, established that the former Iraqi leader signed a death warrant for 148 people.

Jaafar al-Moussawi said the document was dated June 14, 1984 and signed by the chief of the Revolutionary Court, his co-accused Awad al-Bandar, and approved by the former president.
