Hotel staff advised to invest in homes
published: Thursday | March 2, 2006

THE NATIONAL Housing Trust (NHT) has been urging hotel staff in Negril, Westmoreland to purchase homes in the Winchester Meadows housing development in Hanover.

Alwyn Haynes, senior client relations representative at the NHT's Lucea branch, recently spoke about the development to staff members at Beaches Sandy Bay Resort Negril.

During an hour-long presentation at a Beaches Sandy Bay Life Skills Seminar, Mr. Haynes urged staff to seriously consider purchasing one of the few remaining service lots in Winchester Meadows.

He said that, having already spoken to staff members at other hotels in the area about the housing development, he believed they should act quickly.

"There are a few lots left and your counterparts in the other hotels in the region have been showing great interest," he said.

Another NHT development in Point, also in Hanover, was offered to team members as well. Though this site has yet to break ground, staff members expressed considerable interest in acquiring lots at the location.

Mr. Haynes took his audience through the NHT's operational methods and how they, as contributors, benefited from it. He highlighted, for instance, the points and interest rates systems which are based on a person's salary and contributions, conditions for a Home Improvement Loan and also hinted at the new NHT Solar Water Heater Loans, which will soon become available to personal and business contributors and non-contributors alike.
