Fennel, Thyme, Parsley, Cilantro

HERBS AND spices are important ingredients of daily cooking. They add flavour, taste and colour to foods. Without them food would be bland and less flavourful.

There are a wide variety of herbs and spices. However, many people are unaware of most of them. And very often, people do not know which herb or spice complements a particular food. With that in mind, Food decided to introduce the feature, 'Know your herbs and spices' to enlighten readers about the different herbs and spices and their uses. This week, we feature two herbs, fennel and parsley, and two spices, nutmeg and cinnamon leaves.
