WESTERN BUREAU:
THE MONTEGO Bay police have recaptured three more of the 15 prisoners who went missing from the Clark's Town Police Station lock-up in Trelawny on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Paul Bernard said that Glenroy Wright, also known as 'Prince' of Lakes Pen, St. Catherine, was held on the busy Harbour Street in Montego Bay on Tuesday night.
The names of the other two prisoners, who were recaptured in Bounty Hall, Trelawny, have been withheld by police as they are to face identification parades as suspects in crimes committed in the parish since their escape.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE
Wright, who was awaiting trial on a charge of receiving stolen property, is facing an additional charge of escaping police custody. He was the second prisoner to be recaptured since the incident.
Hours after the jailbreak, Marlon Murray was taken back into custody. He was facing an assault with intent to rape charge.
The prisoners went missing during a routine check of the cell block by police personnel. It is believed that the men escaped by prying opening a section of the grille where they were being housed.
Twenty-two prisoners remained behind.
The escapees were awaiting trial for offences including robbery and murder.
The Office of Professional Responsibility is probing the jailbreak, which is believed to have resulted from overcrowding of the cell block and a staff shortage at the stationhouse.
