Females to the fore
published: Thursday | March 2, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IT IS with great pride that I welcome a change in our country that a woman can sit in the seat which was once dominated by the male counterpart. There is no doubt that Mrs. Simpson Miller will handle her role with dignity and pride, in that she is speaking for all other females who have long been oppressed because of their gender.

It is no wonder that all around the world, females have now come to the forefront, thus showing that they are not only capable as caregivers in the home, but also handle prominent positions such as Prime Minister-elect.

Hats off to you, Mrs. Simpson Miller. I am sure your job will not be easy but, with the right people and support, you will stand your ground.

I am, etc.,
