Congratulations Simpson Miller

ON BEHALF OF the Association of Women's Organisations in Jamaica (AWOJA), I wish to send a special message of congratulations and good wishes to Mrs. Portia Simpson Miller. President-elect of the People's National Party and our Prime Minister-designate, we are thrilled at this success of a woman in the political arena. In the past it has been particularly difficult for women to play a role. Her success places Jamaica in the forefront, internationally, among countries which have women in positions of political leadership.

AWOJA commends Mrs. Simpson Miller on the excellent and stateswoman-like conduct of her campaign. We thank her for her years of fervent support and loyalty to women's organisation, in Jamaica. We pledge to do all in our power, as organisations in society, to work for the good of Jamaica under her leadership.

We pray for God's blessings on all her endeavours.
