Kwesi Mugisa, Staff Reporter

THE FIFTH and final of the Trafalgar Travel five tournament series, the Trafalgar Travel Amateur Singles Tennis Championship, serves off at 9:00 a.m. today at the Liguanea Club courts.

The tournaments, held over the last couple of months, have seen competitors in five categories vying for the top prize, a free airline ticket and pass to the NASDAQ Tennis Tournament, beginning on the 22nd of this month in Miami, Florida.

Dwayne Pagon, having won two of the four tournaments so far, leads the way in the Men's Class 1 category with 270 points.

However in second spot Tyler Chin, who beat Pagon in the first tournament of the series, the Lockett McGregor Amateur Singles Tennis Championship, is still very much in striking distance with 210 points.

FIGHT TO THE FINISH

It will be a fight to the finish in the Men's Class two category as Douglas Kong with 320 points is only 20 points ahead of Andrew Lowe.

The battle is even closer between Class Three's Steve Jones and Lee Oakley. Oakley at 200 points trails Jones by only 25 points going into the final tournament.

Things are dead even in Class 4 with Nelton Forsythe and Richard Harris locked up with 200 points apiece. Forsythe won the first tournament, but has not won since, while Harris has won the last two.

In women's action Sasha Hanna, barring a pointless first or second round exit, seems to have things all wrapped up. Her nearest competitors Danielle Monteith (200) and Catherine Bolton (195) would have to hope that Hanna fails to add to her 290 total which would only happen in the unlikely scenario that she fails to reach the round of 16.
