THE EDITOR, Sir:
I AM most pleased to hear of Mrs. Simpson Miller's intervention in the dispute with the bauxite management and its workers. I hope that the Jamaican political machinery as well as the citizens in general will come to the realisation of the leadership acumen that this woman posesses.
I have recently commented on an article written questioning her academic qualification. That writer felt that Mrs. Simpson Miller lacked the great schooling he felt was necessary to lead this vibrant land. I have since questioned his alertness. We have had several well-schooled individuals in leadership positions in this country, and the fruits of their leadership has borne anomalies beyond belief.
CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP
Issues of health, education and welfare are a constant reminder of the need for change in leadership. I am non-partisan and earnestly seek to see leadership of integrity, leadership of trust and honesty, leadership of justice, and leadership of the desire to lead well.
My mentor Edwin Leopold Allen would be pleased with Mrs. Miller as our next leader, and so would my father. This woman is a woman of the people, for the people, and by the people. I am wishing her well, and also success in the general election. And I am looking forward to meeting her soon.
I am, etc.,
