TODAY THE Morgan's Harbour Hotel will come alive with the elimination and sashing of the Miss Global International Beauty Pageant.
Following on the heels of his successful staging of Ms. Commonwealth in 2004, Montego Bay businessman Lachu Ramchandani will stage the Miss Global contest on June 10, at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
The local leg of the event, Miss Jamaica Global, will take place on April 8 at the Negril Golf Club starting at 8:00 p.m.
Ms. Global International became inevitable after
several non-Commonwealth nations expressed their
appreciation for the Miss Commonwealth pageant held in 2004. Romayne McNab was the winner.
Franchise holder Mr. Ramchandani was urged to involve the non-Commonwealth nations for the next event. There was no international contest last year as Mr. Ramchandani set about to involve the non-Commonwealth nations. And this year, things are back on track.
The countries which participated in the inaugural staging of Ms. Commonwealth Pageant were: Bangladesh, Singapore, The Bahamas, Malaysia, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Canada, St. Kitts, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, India, South Africa, Guyana, Nigeria, Grenada and the UK.
"There is no reason for any girl to be apprehensive because no girl is a loser as every single contestant will be taking home prizes," said an elated Mr. Ramchandani.Interested prospects may call: 953-9020.
