International Business Council exec for JEF banquet
published: Tuesday | March 21, 2006

THE UNITED States Council for International Business (USCIB) vice-president for communications, Jonathan Huneke, will be paying a two-day visit, March 21-23, to Jamaica at the invitation of the Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF). During this visit, his primary activity will be to deliver the main address at the second JEF Employer Of Choice awards banquet tomorrow at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

At the USCIB, Mr. Huneke coordinates for the Council's communications efforts, including marketing communications. He is also responsible for the USCIB's Associates Programme, which is an alliance with Chambers of Commerce and other membership-based organisations at the state and municipal levels.

COMPETITIVE MARKETPLACE

In his address, Mr. Huneke will, among other matters share the USCIB's successes as well as how Jamaican businesses can benefit from these and other lessons as they strive to be successful in a global and very competitive marketplace. Over 400 private and public sector representatives, including CEOS, government ministers and members of the Diplomatic Corps, are expected to attend the JEF Employer of Choice Awards Banquet and should therefore benefit from Mr. Huneke's presentation.

WORLD TRADING SYSTEM

The USCIB, which was founded in 1945, has its headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. It seeks to promote an open world trading system and has evolved into one of the premier pro-trade, pro-market liberalisation organisations.

With an active membership base of over 300 multinational companies, law firms and business associations, the Council provides its members with access to international policy makers and regulatory authorities, as well as business services to facilitate international trade. Thus the USCIB focuses on policy leadership, global advocacy, trade facilitation, global networking and having a competitive edge.
