WESTERN BUREAU:
BURNT REMAINS, believed to be those of the Montego Bay couple who were abducted from their home on Saturday, were found in their stolen car near Ironshore, St. James, yesterday.
The police reportedly received an anonymous call directing them to the location at Home Hill Road where the charred remains were discovered.
"The bodies were burnt beyond recognition," commented Detective Inspector Paul Bernard of the Montego Bay Criminal Investigation Branch.
"There was an outline of a body on the left front passenger seat and that of another person on the back seat."
A pathologist was called in to conduct an on-the-spot post mortem on the remains, which will be sent to the Government Forensic Laboratory for further analysis to confirm the identities.
The missing couple were identified as 35-year-old mechanic Dwight 'Rohan' Gray and his partner, 36-year-old business-woman Hercent James-Richards, also known as 'Raine'.
Mrs. Richards operated a retail clothes business, a hairdressing parlour and an auto-mechanic business that Gray managed. She reportedly ran several 'partner' schemes.
NO LEADS YET
It is said that she had been separated from her husband, who has lived overseas for the past three years.
According to information reaching The Gleaner, James-Richards and her husband, who lives in Canada, were in the courts over a child maintenance matter. The next court date was scheduled for this Thursday.
Prior to the gruesome discovery, investigators were busy inter-viewing relatives and neighbours to find a lead for the whereabouts of the two.
The two was reportedly kidnapped by five armed men, allegedly posing as policemen, from their home in Hendon, Montego Bay about 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.
They were at home with five children, three of their own including a 23 month-old baby, when the incident occurred. The children were not harmed.
