'Moral decline is hurting our nation'
published: Thursday | March 23, 2006

THE REV. AL Miller, pastor of Fellowship Tabernacle, believes that the problem of crime and violence in Jamaica is as a result of a decline in the moral values of people.

"Whenever there is moral and spiritual decline, social and economic decline follows.

"Whenever there is moral and spiritual restoration then social and economic revitalisation follows," said Rev. Miller, who was speaking on Monday at a Kiwanis Club of downtown Kingston luncheon at the Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston.

"The answer to crime and violence is simply not an economic one. Crime cannot be solved on the economic and social front alone, as the problem of crime and violence is a moral problem," added Rev. Miller.
