DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Eltham and Jamaica College (JC) will resume today's second and final day of their two-day Grace Shield semi-final matches on top against St. Catherine and Mona respectively.

At Eltham, schoolboy batting record holder Shacoya Thomas scored a century to lead Eltham to 334-9 declared while Elvis Watson bagged four wickets to put JC in total control in their match.

Thomas' 101, which included 12 fours and one six, Matthew Stewart, 54, and Frederick Hermitt's 51 not out, were the backbone of Eltham's total.

Jermaine Grant (3-47), Jermaine Gordon (2-51), Sheldon Wilson (2-86) and Rasheed Outar (2-58) got the bulk of the wickets for St. Catherine.

St. Catherine will resume on 4-1 when play starts at 10:00 this morning.

At Old Hope Road, Mark Robinson hit 80 and Watson took 4-26 as JC dominated yesterday's opening day.

Gavin Jackson, 47, supported Robinson in JC's 232. Kevin Hamilton (3-34) and Fabian McNab (3-33) took the most wickets for Mona.

In reply, Mona struggled to 93-9. Jamiel Austin on 17 will resume Mona's fight this morning. McNab made 22.
