THAT RECENTLY completed b-mobile show saw the 'lucky' guy getting the dream girl. But that got us thinking about the things some people will do for money.
For example, in the movie Indecent Proposal (1993), Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson's characters agree to let Moore sleep with billionaire John Gage played by Robert Redford for a million dollars. Okay, so the couple was in debt up to their foreheads but c'mon, was declaring bankruptcy such a bad idea?
This movie poses the question about how far would you go for 'the dough'. In this couple's case, they were dead broke and needed the money just to 'eat a food'.
For the contestants on Singles, let's face it. Having never met Theresa before now, it is impossible (unless you believe in love at first sight) to actually fall in love with her, not just her looks. Hence the theory that some of these guys got into the contest for the money and prizes.
ENTIRELY UP TO YOU
Whether you consider that a bad thing or not is entirely up to you however. To some of us, doing something that will be broadcast over the airwaves for months might not be worth the prizes. But for others; lights, camera, action!
"Hmm, there are many things I wouldn't do for a million dollars," says Andrewwho's not the most conservative guy around. "But the most out-of-the-question thing, is killing somebody." Good he won't be a bounty hunter any time soon.
Mateo, a more liberal thinking chap wouldn't kill either but more risqué stuff is fine with him. From my warped mind I ask about something potentially gross like, sucking toes?
"For a million, I'd a suck them 'til them white," he laughs while I cringe. Thankfully, I have some more normal friends. Omarwould do just about anything for a million but if the money wasn't for him.
"If my father needed heart surgery, then I would fight a bull, bungy jump, swim with sharks or whatever," he conceded. The motivation however is not exactly the money but rather the good it will be used for; saving a life.
In the end, it all depends on the individual. The principles you have (if any), the things that interest you and ultimately the kind of person you are.
What would I do for a million dollars? Plenty, but no game shows for me!
