Magical memories

David and Tannis

THE AQUA ocean kissed the sands in the warmth of the early afternoon as a soft wind teased the flower-decorated beachfront altar.

This was the décor created by the undeniable naturally beautiful surroundings of Beaches Sandy Bay, Negril. The wedding of David McDaniel and Tannis Demar facilitated by the special touches of the resort's wedding consultant showcased a piece of paradise borrowed only for a time. It would be remembered forever.

It was a small intimate ceremony of 14 of the couple's closest family including David's two sons who played the role of groomsmen and Tannis' mom and aunt who performed bridesmaids' duties.

The small bridal party of four, elegantly garbed in shades of blue and lavender, flanked the bride and groom as they pledged to love, honour and cherish each other. While the groomsmen looked a tad hot under the stiff collars of their dark suits, the two bridesmaids were glamorous in their thong-styled, silver jewelled beach sandals that complemented the touch of silver sequins lining the hemlines of their strapless, calf-length dresses.

ENVELOPED IN LOVE

But as David stood before Rev'd. Joseph Campbell, he noticed nothing but the angelic image of his bride staring back at him. With her one-tier elbow length veil freely blowing in the wind and sheathed in a two-piece, strapless, floor-length gown designed by Raylia, Tannis was the epitome of a bride enveloped in love.

David and Tannis met over three years ago but just hung out as friends. Last April however, all that changed when Tannis made what was supposed to have only been a friendly visit to David in Chicago. Instead, love bloomed and in July he proposed to her during a horse and carriage ride in Lincoln Park in Chicago.
