Vernon Matalon passes on

PRESIDENT AND chief executive officer of the Industrial Commercial Development Limited (ICD), Vernon Matalon has died.

Mr. Matalon, who was also the chairman of Uni Motors and Facey Commodity (now Toyota Jamaica), died at home yesterday at the age of 72 after a brief illness.

On Saturday, Mr. Matalon celebrated his 44th wedding anniversary with wife Dr. Barbara Ann Matalon.

He is also survived by four children: Michelle, Kimberly, Karen and Laura and six grandchildren. His funeral will be held tomorrow at the Jewish Cemetery, Orange Street, Kingston, at 3:00 p.m.
