GOVERNOR-GENERAL PROFESSOR Kenneth Hall headed a list of delegates including Seventh-day Adventist officials from across the West Indies at a worship service on Saturday to honour Northern Caribbean University President, Dr. Herbert J. Thompson.
Dr. Thompson was recognised for 15 years of outstanding service to the institution during a function held at the NCU gymnatorium.
Last November, the Board of Governors of the institution elected Dr. Thompson to serve as president for another five years.
Under his leadership, the then West Indies College was transformed to Northern Caribbean University in 1998, and today, of the 100-plus Adventist tertiary institutions across the world, Northern Caribbean University is one of the largest.
Guest Speaker, Chairman of the NCU Board and President of the West Indies Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Dr. Patrick Allen, said the occassion was timely as it was celebrated personal acheivement.
"If you ever find yourself fallen between the cracks, lift up your head, lift up your heart, know that Jesus is coming your way," he said.
During the service, a number of presentations were made to Dr. Thompson, his wife and daughters.
