Over 60 teams confirmed for Pan Caribbean Sigma run
published: Tuesday | March 28, 2006

PAN CARIBBEAN Financial Services has over these past eight years managed to attract thousands of participants to its 5K charity run. Consequently the race has raised some $8 million for worthy causes ranging from the Bustamante Children's Home to the Leukaemia CARE centre.

Last year the Blood Bank was chosen and a number of vital pieces of equipment were procured with the proceeds.

This year it is expected that $2.5 million will be raised to benefit the University Hospital of the West Indies labour ward. Thus far, 60 corporate teams have been confirmed for the Pan Caribbean Sigma run, including GraceKennedy, BNS, Moores Business Forms, NHT, Wray & Nephew, 3M, Berger Paints, Carreras Group, PetroJam, RJR, Training Camp and the Urban Develop-ment Corporation.

Many of these teams have started preparing for the run which will begin on Knutsford Boulevard and move on to Waterloo and Constant Spring roads through to Half-Way Tree and back to New Kingston on April 9.

There will be three sections this year, a wheelchair race, a walk and a run for which over 3000 persons are expected to register.
