Preserve resources
published: Friday | March 31, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IN RESPONSE to Mr. Clive Ocnacuwenga's letter, I am in full agreement with what he is saying. Other countries around the world are trying to preserve their natural heritage/resources in land/forestry, animals, and water resources, while it appears as if Jamaica is trying to sell ours off to the highest bidder. We need to preserve these things for our children and our children's children.

I strongly believe the Govern-ment of Jamaica should be passing laws that ensure that these natural resources are restricted from any form of development, and should be preserved or left in its natural state.

I am sure Jamaicans would not like to wake up one morning and all they can see is skyscrapers all around them. Let's leave mother nature alone. This is what attracts many of our tourists to Jamaica - its beauty.

I am, etc.,
