ST. ANDREW Technical High School held its health fair on Tuesday, which was part of the school's 45th anniversary programme. The stalls were predominately promoting family planning, safe sex and various other health issues.
The fare was all-inclusive and many residents of the Greenwich Farm and Rose Town inner city communities attended.
Nurses and ophthalmologists were available to give free medical check-ups and sign up people who needed treatment. A peer counselor Gary Gordon, from the Family Planning Board, was also on hand to advise and demonstrate the techniques of safe sex, like the proper way to put on and take off a condom.
The Registrar General's Department was present and provided the opportunity for parents to register their babies. Companies such as Colgate and Nestlé had stands there, the latter selling their Supligen energy drinks at a discount.
