published: Saturday | April 8, 2006

LAWYERS TURNED out in large numbers Thursday at the Supreme Court where three newly-appointed Queen's Counsels were admitted to the Inner Bar.

They are Glen Cruickshank, executive director of the Legal Aid Council; Hyacinth Lindsay, chief parliamentary counsel and Dr. Eileen Boxhill, director of Legal Reform.

Chief Justice Lensley Wolfe and Miss Justice Gloria Smith presided at the ceremony and commended them on their appointment.

Several Queen's Counsels congratulated them and said they were happy that they were recognised for their invaluable service to the country.

The appointment of Queen's Counsel is made to a member of the legal profession who is regarded as an excellent advocate and has a proven reputation for advocacy.
