LETTER OF THE DAY - Mob justice on the UWI campus
THE EDITOR, Sir: WHEN I was going to high school, my teachers always reminded us that those of us who made it to university represented the top five per cent of society. We were the cream; we got this privilege to attend an institution...

Nothing wrong with PM seeking divine guidance
THE EDITOR, Sir: LET ME just take time out to respond to a letter by Mr. Wesley Ebanks, captioned 'Mr. Knight was dead right.' To me, it seems as if Mr. Ebanks, living in Canada, has lost track of where he is coming from.

Bad example by university students
THE EDITOR, Sir: AS A graduate of the UWI, I read in shock and dismay the events which took place on the campus in The Gleaner. It would seem that those who are supposed to be the intellectual leaders of the society are no better than the mob.

The PM's high religious tone
THE EDITOR, Sir: OUR NEWLY-APPOINTED Prime Minister is obviously a Christian. While there are many good things about Christianity and just about all religions, a leader of a democracy should not use his or her influence to promote any single religion...

Jamaica needs transformed leadership
THE EDITOR, Sir: THIS IS a serious matter. The answer for Jamaica cannot be handled by the faint-hearted or by those who do not know how to wear their armour. These are difficult times (globally) and it requires a different style of leadership.
