Jamaica needs transformed leadership
published: Monday | April 10, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THIS IS a serious matter. The answer for Jamaica cannot be handled by the faint-hearted or by those who do not know how to wear their armour.

These are difficult times (globally) and it requires a different style of leadership. Jamaica does not need diplomatic or reformed leadership at this time. She needs transformed leadership.

But it is Jesus alone who provides transformation. He does not improve us, but transforms us and makes us new creatures. Jamaica needs no-nonsense leadership that is willing to pay whatever the price necessary to get the job done.

No apologies, no compromise on our godly principles. Trans-formed leadership is required with clear and specific directions.

God will work on behalf of leaders who surrender their whole heart to him. We have to make the most basic choice in life: The choice between wisdom and folly, that is, walking with God or walking on our own. So take heart. Jamaica shall fulfil her purpose under God.

I am, etc.,

MILLICENT BATTICK
