THE FOURTH publication of Jamaica Maritime is now available.
Jamaica Maritime seeks to showcase Jamaica's shipping industry as we continue to pursue the vision of Jamaica as a maritime centre.
The magazine is distributed worldwide, to over 7,000 port and shipping executives and managers.
"This publication is important for Jamaica, as it captures a mix of services offered locally that says we have a foundation on which to build Jamaica into a maritime centre," noted Eric Deans, director of shipping and policy research at the Maritime Authority.
"It is not about one sector of the shipping industry. It is about all of the shipping industry as the different organisations impact and complement each other," Deans said.
In the foreword to the magazine, Minister of Housing, Transport and Works, Robert Pickersgill, speaks of the port expansion exercise and the Government's commitment to the development of Jamaica as a maritime centre."
Minister Pickersgill also emphasised the availability of a wide range of services, such as ship registration, cargo and cruise ship management, ship brokering and chartering, ship finance, marine insurance, ship and container repair services, crewing and bunkering.
Copies of the publication are available at the Maritime Authority of Jamaica, 40 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 5.
