JAMAICAN HONOURED IN GEORGIA - Granted 'Inspiring Excellence' award

JAMAICAN NATIONAL Elaine Bryan, was recently awarded the Judge Glenda Hatchett 'Reach For A Better Future: Inspiring Excellence' Education Mentoring Award. Mrs .Bryan is the first and only recipient of this award in the state of Georgia.

Elaine Bryan (formerly Grant) was born in Kingston and attended Kingston Technical High School where she was head girl. She worked at Air Jamaica for few years before migrating.

She is currently a Chamblee High School counsellor and real estate investor in Atlanta Georgia. Mrs. Bryan is an alumnus of North-Western University. She is currently completing her PhD. Her philosophy is "What you do with what you have determines what you become".

Judge Hatchett honoured Mrs. Bryan in a ceremony recently at the Lenox Mall in Atlanta. During the award ceremony hosted by FOX 5 reporter Art Franklin, she was presented with a trophy and a monetary award. The event was recorded by Sony Television Pictures.

RECEPTION IN HER HONOUR

On Saturday, November 26, 2005, the Barbados Association of Atlanta also presented Mrs. Bryan with the '2005 Trident Award For Excellence' in the area of education. On Sunday, December 18, Jamaica's Honorary Consul in Atlanta, Vin Martin, hosted a reception in Ms. Bryan's honour. She was presented with a plaque commending her work in the area of education. Bryan has a special gift of motivating young people. She is currently involved with the B.A.M. group at the Microsoft Corporation in helping them identify candidates for scholarship and internship opportunities being offered by the Bill Gates Foundation.

Mrs. Bryan is the founder of the E. B. Success Centre, starting soon in Dunwoody, Georgia. Her expertise in the area of real estate has earned her a spot on several upcoming episodes of 'What You Get For The Money' which is aired on the HGTV and Fine Living channels. It is currently the top rated prime-time show on HGTV. Fine Living and HGTV are carried nationally in 90 million homes. Tune in to HGTV and Fine Living for episodes featuring Elaine in summer and fall 2006.
