What about the fire trucks?
published: Thursday | April 20, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

"SAME GAME, just different players". Last year or year before, many Jamaicans were proud of now Prime Minister Simpson Miller when she stood up for her ministry. She was adamant that her budget was too small and that the fire station needed fire trucks among many other demands. Many of her colleagues were angry, but she held her ground.

Now one would have thought that after such a gesture, she would have increased the budget for that ministry. What did our Prime Minister do? She cut the budget for that ministry.

I am very supportive of our Prime Minister, but that is a wrong move in the public's eye. Madam Prime Minister, you were placed by the people for the people; stop playing dirty politics and stand up for what you believe in.

I am, etc.,
