More action, less talk

THE EDITOR, Sir:ALL THOSE who have been talking about our country's demise and have not done anything to help, shame on you. I don't belong to any organisation, but seeing the need, I act accordingly, be it to get food for the poor or encourage mothers and fathers on being role models for their children. I listen to children read, I encourage them to try and learn to speak standard English, I talk with them about unity.
I am often an advocate in conflict resolution. I am involved in the lives of many. I talk with young mothers and fathers about good parenting, what to say and not say in the presence of their children. I encourage them to try, as often as possible, to show interest in their children's lives; show respect and love to their children.
I buy educational materials to encourage children and adults to read.
I call on all volunteers. Let us unite and share ideas. Let's try and re-instil in our people the national pride we once had. There is power and strength in numbers.
I am, etc.,
