Reggae Boy Marlon King
LONDON, England (CMC)
WATFORD'S GOALSCORING sensation, Jamaican Marlon King, has been rewarded for an outstanding season by being named to the Professional Footballers Association Championship Team-of-the-Year on Sunday.
King, who celebrates his 26th birthday tomorrow, is the English Championship's leading goalscorer with 21 goals, three more than Reading's Kevin Doyle.
The striker's form has been instrumental in Watford's performance in the league this season. The east England club have qualified for the play-offs and depending on the result, could find themselves in the Premiership next season.
King's success for Watford represents a huge turn around after enduring a torrid time at Nottingham Forest last season.
He was loaned to Watford at the start of the season and his superb form led to a long term contract being finalised when the transfer window opened in January.
