C&WJ drops Internet rates
published: Sunday | April 30, 2006

CABLE AND Wireless Jamaica (C&WJ) has again reduced the rates it charges for its high-speed Internet services with new prices which took effect on April 27 for three popular packages.

The company's Classic package (256k/128k) is now priced at the Jamaican equivalent of US$29.95 per month; the Prime package (512K/128k) at the Jamaican equivalent of US$34.95 and the Deluxe package (1Mb/256k) at US$49.95.

The new rates represent price reductions of up to 30 per cent and mark the second major reduction in prices by the company in under a year.

C&WJ will continue to provide a free modem and splitter/filter kit to all new customers signing up for their high-speed Internet service.

Additionally, customers who sign up before June 1 and who configure their service using C&WJ's self-installation kit, will have their set-up charge waived. Also, customers who choose to have a company technician do their installation will get 50 per cent discount off the regular installation charge if they subscribe for the service before June 1.

"Our customers are at the centre of all that we do and we've continued to listen to them and that guides us in developing our price packages," said Xesus Johnston, vice-president of Broadband and Consumer Services at C&WJ.
