THE EDITOR, Sir:
IN TODAY'S Gleaner (May 3), Keith Duncan makes a very strong and sound argument against misconduct in public affairs.
However, I wonder about his criticising corruption in politics and then calling on a politician to lead the fight against it.
He has seen politicians watching in silence over wanton waste and criminal corruption, yet he lives with the hope that one of the muted voices will suddenly raise an alarm.
I believe that the business sector can and should chart its own course of action along with civil society.
This empty expectation that a Government will lead the effort to repair the damage it has done and continues to cause, is an absolute squandering of faith.
I am, etc.,
