Jamaica land of wood and water is blessed with several wonder areas that possess both attributes within the same location. One such lovely place for relaxation while learning about our culture is Coyaba River Garden and Mahoe Falls.
Natural attractions there include a genuine water garden, fed by streams that rise on the property, exquisite Jamaican Spanish
architecture, the shade of giant banyan and
cedar trees, Blue Mountain Coffee served in a cut-stone courtyard, a natural aquarium filled with koi carp, mullet, snappers and turtles.
There is also a bar in the gardens with a natural food vegetarian restaurant called The River Yard Café. The Museum has been refurbished and some extra pieces are included in the exhibition. Upstairs from the gift shop there is now an
additional shop selling natural health and beauty products as well as local artwork. There are
additional bathrooms, changing areas and lockers available in the rooms above the main gift shop.
SUNKEN COURTYARD
The new waterfall is called Mahoe Falls and the expansion includes a large parking lot. There is a new sunken courtyard on the land above the waterfall which can be rented for events such as weddings, receptions, concerts, and workshops.
Manager Simon Stewart says that Coyaba River Garden and Mahoe Falls is the place to remove your troubles. "Here you will feel refreshed, relaxed and happy to be in Jamaica. You will
forget the troubles of the land, soothe your senses and rejuvenate your souls while learning about Jamaica's history," says Mr. Stewart.
