Mommy's morning make-up
published: Monday | May 8, 2006

Adding just a little colour to the lips can transform your appearance from muted to bold. - WINSTON SILL/FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHER

MOTHERS, WORKING mothers in particular, tend to have pretty hectic mornings. After having helped the little ones get ready for school, there isn't much time, if any, left for mom to get titivated. However, by new-age standards, a woman should do it all and do it well, while appearing as though she just stepped off the pages of Vogue or Style magazine.

Not to worry, ladies, there are still some sure-fire ways to spruce up your appearance for the day, even if subtly so, using a few make-up essentials without expending much time or effort.

MOISTURISE

Adding moisturiser to your skin brings out the lustre and radiance of your natural skin tone. If you do nothing else in the morning, be sure to moisturise your skin.

LIP GLOSS ALONE TO PUMP UP THE VOLUME

Before heading out the door, grab a brown lip liner, swoop it around the edge of your lips, smear on some lip gloss, and - you have luscious lips!

MASCARA MAGIC

Applying only mascara is one effortless way to accentuate your eyes. So, lift and lengthen your lashes with a layer of mascara, and up the sexy metre a few notches. For this, try to slow down the pace a bit, lest you poke yourself in the eye.

FOUNDATION ONLY

Even out your complexion with the appropriate foundation for your skin tone. If there is time, add a hint of blush, to bring some colour to your cheeks. Finish with some lip colour and you're good to go!
