Double murder in Arnett Gardens
published: Monday | May 8, 2006

THE DENHAM Town CIB has commenced a probe into the double murder of a taxi driver and his nephew at Benin Close, Arnett Gardens at the weekend.

Dead are Moses Grant, 35, of Chambers Pen, Lucea, Hanover and his 28-year-old nephew, Chris Grant of Majesty Gardens, Kingston.

Reports from the Constabulary Communica-tion Network (CCN) are that, about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, both men were in a car with two other men on the way to a used car dealer when the vehicle was stopped by two gunmen at the intersection of Gem Road and Maxfield Avenue. The Grants were robbed of more than $300,000 and shot dead while the other men were reportedly bound and left on Sunlight Street in Kingston. One of the captives escaped and reported the matter to the police but, on their return to the area, the other captive was not seen.

"Blood stains were seen at the location and it is believed that the other man was also shot and killed," said the CCN. The escaped captive was yesterday being questioned by the police.
