THE EDITOR, Sir:I HAVE read in the papers and listened on the radio for the past year the interest the society has demanded of our politicians and security forces to curb and decrease criminals and their activities.
The gunslingers fear no one, surely not the security forces. These youths have no desire to change; they have to be identified, isolated and eradicated. It is them or us. We need a hit squad, call it what you may, Swat, Acid or Eradication. Arming the society will not change criminal activities, your little handgun is no match for their AK47 or their M16.
The Prime Minister has asked for divine intervention. The society and non-believers have attacked the idea, yet we are guided by morals in the western world that come from the Bible, the same Bible that says in Leviticus 24: 17, any one who takes a life shall lose their own. We are weak and spineless when it comes to dispensing capital punishment.
Nothing is perfect, but I will give up some of my civil liberties to be safe in the end. These young gunslingers have no fear for the area leaders; they have their own guns and money. We need something to be done now. Kingfish is working but we need the return of an Adams-like squad.
The clock is ticking. Act now before it is too late.
