ART THOU building a hut ye land, or art thou constructing the house of Jamdown? Art thou advancing a nation or art thou content on wandering in an economic wilderness? Behold, these art serious days in thy national life and something has got to give.
Dearly beloved, the budget for the current fiscal year hath been presented unto thee, and maybe 'tis mostly style over substance or vice versa, but it is what it is, and thou O land hath but to make the best that thou can of it.
Shouldst thou therefore prolong a debate about how inappropriate it is to utilise statutory accumulated funds to finance social and macroeconomic programmes? Or shouldst thou subscribe to the provisions established within the outlined policies and strive to achieve their intended objectives for the betterment of thyself and thy household?
Beware ye the predictable and tiresome amongst the intelligentsia, whose bread art securely buttered often on both sides, for they shall talk thee into oblivion and thou shalt find no resolution within their objections but thou wouldst endure extreme anxiety from hearkening unto them. Instead, seek ye enlightenment of the simplest form regarding whatsoever opportunities art available to thee within the budget and be thou extensively informed according to thy personal needs and aspirations.
JAMDOWN HATH BEEN EXPOSED
For thou O Jamdown hath been exposed to such backwardness that indeed thou thrive on it and apparently art incapable of existing without it. Otherwise thou wouldst not tolerate a situation in which construction was integral in boosting thy economy and spurring growth, albeit negligible, in the last fiscal year to the current debacle in which the said construction industry is hamstrung and extensively gutting the economy into a critical state?
Behold, the time hath come for the common man on the rock to resolve unto himself an intention to broaden his nationalist horizons beyond the basic requirements of rural water supply and improved road conditions; to a point of understanding the nuts and bolts of governance in the land, such that when those who art guided by ulterior considerations begin to spew hogwash on talk-radio, he can stand on advisement but then proceed to www.jis.gov.jm, where he can download copies of the budget presentations and acquire an appreciation of the elements of the debate on his own terms, for it is written that reading maketh the man, and already the rock is sinking under the weight of excessive and unproductive talk.
