THE EDITOR, Sir:
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL'S recent report concerning Jamaica and the so called abuse of human rights is typical of an organisation based overseas with no actual understanding of Jamaican culture and present circumstances. This is the same wherever AI reports on.
They need to understand that what they consider right and applicable for the U.K. does not necessarily hold true for other parts of the world. And what they consider right and just may fly in the face of centuries old, established biblical truths and tenets.
They mention the buggery law ... just because the U.K. thinks it is moral and right to allow same sex marriages does not mean that Christian-led and believing nations must abide by this major contradiction of God's holy word and law.
They mention that no police officer has been convicted of murder ... do they understand what it is like to be a police officer trying to ensure security and safety for the majority of law-abiding citizens while faced with the daily abuse and hostility created by the parasitical few? I think not. Wake up AI and smell the roses. Just because you think it is right for individuals to transgress God's holy law does not mean that we should give up our right to abide by them.
I am, etc.,
