TT trials

TRIALS TO select Jamaica's male and female table tennis teams to the Caribbean Games in June and Central and Caribbean Games (CAC) Games in July, start today at the Rex Nettleford Hall, University of the West Indies at 10:00 am.

An eight-member team comprising four men and four women will be selected after the two-day trial for the 2006 Caribbean Championship set for June 1-18 in Puerto Rico.

The same team will then venture to Colombia for the CAC Games from July 15-30.

One male player will also be selected for the Over-34 Singles category of the Caribbean Championship.

Top-ranked Peter Moo Young will lead 11 other competitors vying for four spots. The other players are Nigel Webb, Gavin Hylton, Ludlow Bailey, Joseph Dibbs, Dale Parham, Daryl Strachan, Christopher Marsh, Kane Watson, Oneil White, Marlon Chin and Alphanso Morris.

In the female section, top seed Nina Burton will have to see off national champion Yvonne Foster, Kadien Carney, Andrea Wadworth, Tracy-Ann Dattadeen, Michelle Harris and Janelle Morris.
