Left: The store attendant shows Gersham a dress that she thought would be suitable for casual wear, but he says it's more suited for a 'granny'.
Right: Accessories are an intergral part of a woman's attire and Damian is trying to find a pair of shoes to complement the outifit he selected.
MANY WOMEN would not trust a man to choose their wardrobe, and very often rightly so. Some guys are so daft when it comes to coordination that it leads you to wonder whether they are colour-blind! Then again, there are those who are usually well-dressed and could probably choose a fabulous outfit for any woman - or so it would seem.
Then there is the stereotypical viewpoint that men who have a sense of colour and style are either gay, fashion designers or a combination of both. Not so fast - many men do know how to dress their women and even do all their wives/women's clothes selection.
To test men's knowledge of female fashion, and their ability to choose a stylish and appropriate ensemble, the Flair let loose two men, Damian Johnson, a computer programmer and Gersham Green, an insurance adviser, in a women's clothing/ accessory store with a mission in mind - to select three outfits for our model, Khristina; one for a night out on the town, one for the office, and casual wear. For each category, they had to assemble a complete outfit, finished with shoes and accessories - the whole works. Surprisingly, they didn't do too badly, and at the end of it all, had a new appreciation for a woman's shopping experience, which is usually undertaken in an effort to look good for men.
Left: Damian's final selection for casual wear, after having chosen a couple pieces before that just did not work. At first, even this seemed kind of drab, but after he added the accessories, it was transformed to fab!
Right: Gersham chose this casual outfit and says it's perfect for a day out on the mall. It is a bit skimpy for the road, and actually seems more suited for the beach, but if that's how he would like to see a woman dress, then so be it.
