SuperClubs holding food fest
published: Tuesday | May 30, 2006

Mrs. Nakash says Jamaica's vital international tourism marketing image always benefits from the annual Epicurean Escape, because of the vast coverage they generate in such crucial world media outlets as Food And Wine, The Houston Chronicle, BET magazine and television, and CNN. She says this year's programme is likely to be just as successful as previous ones.

SUPERCLUBS' GRAND Lido Negril resort will hold its seventh-annual weekend Epicurean Escape extravaganza from June 29 to July 3.

The event will bring together top local and celebrity international chefs and a strong local and overseas press corps to showcase Jamaica's tourism.

It will be will again be presented jointly by SuperClubs and the mass-circulation American culinary magazine, Food And Wine, which will cover the event for a multi-page spread later this year.

Grand Lido Negril's Epicurean Escape will be a five-day tribute and salute to good food and fine liqueur, says Zein Nakash, SuperClubs' vice president for marketing and the environment.

At least seven chefs de cuisine from top North American resorts and restaurants will interface with Grand Lido Negril's best, including its award winning executive chef, Martin Maginley, for seminars, classes, wine and champagne tasting events, special luncheons and dinners as well as a grand gala.

"They will guide our guests and the judges through tantalising culinary delights and good wines," Mrs. Nakash reports. "The eight-course formal dinner will be presented in an elegant ambience of an attractive, gracious menu and synchronised service with the chefs verbally presenting and explaining their individual innovations."
