THE EDITOR, Sir:
I HAVE paid more than two times to get my birth certificate from the Registrar General's Department (RGD). Finally, I received the certificate and there was an error on it. I contacted the office by submitting the certificates and informing them of the error.
After some time, they wrote me to submit the pink slip copy of my registration as evidence.
This was done, and since then I have been trying to get my certificate.
EXCUSES
I have been conversing with these people from January of this year asking about my certificates, only to keep hearing: 'We are searching for it in the vault; We haven't located your record, just give us some time; Your certificate was located and sent to production so call us back in two days to see that they are ready; Oh, I am sorry anyone who told you it was sent to production is lying because we just located your records and we need to verify it - give us a week and call back; Oh, your record was sent to be verified to see whose fault it was, so give us about two weeks ok?'.
Now, this is what I have to go through each time if I am lucky to speak to someone.
At other times, the phone just keeps ringing until someone picks up the phone and hangs it up in my ears.
I am pregnant and these people are sending up my blood pressure. I have tried everything to get these certificates because without them. I can't do anything at all. But it seems these person don't give a damn at all.
I am, etc,
