DIBBS
CONTROVERSIAL TABLE tennis player, Joseph Dibbs, is one of four men selected to represent Jamaica at both the Caribbean Championships and the Central and Caribbean (CAC) Games.
Meanwhile, Yvonne Foster is the sole female representative after two days of trials which ended at the Rex Nettleford Hall, University of the West Indies, on Sunday.
Dibbs, the embattled former table tennis president who was unceremoniously sacked, finished fourth in the trials with seven wins and three losses.
Nigel Webb, Peter Moo Young and Christopher Marsh joins Dibbs at the Caribbean Championship in Puerto Rico that runs from June 1-18 and the CAC Games starting July 15.
Webbs finished as the top player with nine wins from 10 games. Moo Young was second with eight wins and Marsh and Dibbs finished with seven wins and three losses.
Marsh was given third place because of his better head-to-head clash with Dibbs.
Meanwhile, national champion, Yvonne Foster will be the only female representative after the number one seed Nina Burton and third seed Kadian Carney failed to show on both days.
"We will be sending only one player because there were some problems in the female section," said Justin Allen, general secretary of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association.
