National Commercial Bank (NCB) robbery suspect to face ID parade
published: Thursday | June 1, 2006

George Henry, Gleaner Writer

SPALDINGS, Clarendon

A MAN, who the Manchester police took into custody last weekend to answer questions in connection with a daring daylight robbery at a sub-branch of the National Commercial Bank at Spaldings, is to face an identification parade this Friday.

Sergeant Rovan Salmon, Constabulary Communication Network liaison officer for Manchester, who confirmed that the suspect was held, said the man will face the ID parade either tomorrow or Saturday.

Sergeant Salmon also pointed out that the police are seeking three other men in connection with the robbery. He said they are only known as Mahadio, Ritchie and Sam and that they frequent areas in Manchester and Clarendon.

The police have also reported that a white 1990 Nissan Sunny motor car, which was identified in the heist, and which has been confirmed as the vehicle which was used as the getaway car following the incident, was also seized by the police at Comfort in Manchester.

SIX-HOUR OPERATION

Meanwhile, following a six-hour operation in the Spaldings area last Friday, which led to the seizure of a white 1991 Toyota Corolla, the police are carrying out investigations to determine whether that vehicle was also involved in the daylight heist as well.

It is suspected that part of the just under $1,000,000 which was stolen from the bank could have been used to purchase the Toyota Corolla.
