AND SO, The Most Honourable Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller it is, and about time too! The only question should be why was she not so designated on her succession to the nation's highest political office, instead of months after!

Dears, clearly the designation The Most Honourable, in its new dispensation, was created to facilitate the office of the Prime Minister, as prior to this it was reserved for the office of the Governor-General. What is missing here is a charter to make the title synonymous with the assumption of the office, as against bestowed at some later date.

As for Bruce Golding and his protestations, this latest outburst has only confirmed what has been becoming increasingly clear for some time now: Mr. Golding and his cohorts are determined to make of the once great and formidable JLP nothing more than one of the very many would-be pressure groups now dotting the skyline!

AN EXPLANATION, PLEASE

And for the life of this here Mont Blanc, can anyone tell me why those supposedly representing Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition always choose to do so in the worst light? Or can someone please explain those would-be protesters, (kiss-teeth), who gathered at or near Devon House on Monday morning? And then there was that unseemly bit with those 'manufactured' press release/advisory some time earlier.

Duh, is anybody home, or is it that this elevator just does not go to the top floor?

Then, my daahlings, it was all about the 'A-Crowd' last weekend and nothing but, as it reigned the fabulous all the way from St. Andrew, through Prospect, St. Mary and Laughing Waters in St. Ann, all the way to Savanna-la Mar in Westmoreland, and honeys, how!

Sweet-things, talk about a jam-packed social calendar, well pumpkins, it was like that and nothing but as haute-society was in its element over the weekend and cooking like everybody's business and it made for one fabulous weekend!

Dears, for many in the know and with a yen for fab living, there are many new ways to keep heart, body and soul together, in an effort to make this as fabulous a life as ever, devoid of the aches and pains and attendant ailments that accompany being overweight and/or those given to unhealthy living!

Well, my daahlings, one such organisation devoted not only to the wellness of the being but also to the support and development of our fellow citizens, is the lovely Sharon Feanny of the Shakti Yoga, Health Spa and Spinning Centre, on Bedford Park Road, in Greater New Kingston, (in close proximity to the MegaMart complex).

TO RAISE FUNDS

Luvs, in an effort to raise funds as well as the civic-mindedness of her fellow countrymen, the charming Mrs. Feanny opened up the doors last Saturday in association with the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), in a move desired to raise public support for the work of the chamber, as well as to raise funds for the continued operational support for the AMCHAM inspired and funded model police station and Edna Manley Health Clinic, now located in the very heart of the depressed community of Grants Pen.

My daahlings, if ever there was a worthy cause then this is one. And so it really was no surprise that when word of the fund-raising effort by Sharon McConnell-Feanny's Shakti Centre on behalf of the model police station and health centre was noised abroad, that the well-to-do and the fab all queued to show their support for the worthy cause. Mind you, the fact that participants were themselves the beneficiary of an introduction to a healthier lifestyle choice made it a win-win situation. This, my dears, made it all the more exciting.

THE FABULOUS GUESTS

And so it was my dears, that the fab, the chic, the stylish and the very-well-to-do all turned out last Saturday for what the buzz say was one glorious affair! And little wonder here my dears, as among the list of fab personalities and the who's who of business and commerce and haute-society out enjoying the facilities and working out for charity were: The Most Hon. Glynne Manley; M.P. Delroy Chuck.

UNICEF's Bertrand Bainvel; DCP Mark Shields; the fabulous Joan McConnell; Lois Sherwood and her fab daughter Ann Ventura; Henrietta DeLisser; Paul and Becky Stockhausen; the elegant Diana Stewart; Laurence and Laura Turnbull; the stunning Suzie Benjamin.

The fab Zein Issa-Nakash; Tom and Rose Tavares-Finson; William and Franny Mahfood; Nicola Bicknell; Xander Melville and his flawless wife Mandy Melville; Peter and Tina Matalon; Stuart and Denise McConnell; Melinda Burrowes; Mark and Betty McKenzie; Colm and Paula Delves; Noel and Judy Strachan; the lovely Michelle Mayne; Jimmy Josephs; Audrey Markes; the charming Natalie Desnoes; George and Debbie Cumming; the lovely Tamara Hill; Saleem and Anna-Kay Lazarus; the gorgeous Imani Duncan; Tanya Wildish; and Spragga Benz; plus several scores others.

Me daahlings, it was such a hot affair, many of those who were guests are asking to make the event an annual charity do, so more anon!

Then, belated birthday wishes to Travis MacMillan, who actually celebrated his special day yesterday, with a special outing with father Robert MacMillan.

Special birthday wishes, too, to American businessman Mark Jones, father of young philanthropist Anders Jones, of Kids For Technology fame, who celebrates his birthday this here Monday.

Kingsley Cooper celebrates tomorrow, but will stay the celebrations until after Caribbean Fashion Week 2006, which gets into high gear and then some, this here coming week, and it promises to be a study in fabdom and haute style and nothing else!

No! No drama here, unless, of course, it's the drama of high-fashion and hot-models.
