Rainbow and butterflies
published: Monday | June 5, 2006

THE WEDDING of Toni-shae James to Kirk Freckleton was unique and spectacular in every way.

On April 17, the gorgeous bride in a form-fitting gown, and silver tiara finished with pearls, took the charming groom donned in a white suit to be her partner for life.

The location, the Bellefield Great House in Montego Bay. It was simply astounding - lush verdant garden setting against the backdrop of the setting sun. The splendour didn't stop there. The bridal party was strikingly stunning in rainbow colours to highlight the theme of the ceremony. The bridesmaids each wore a colour of the rainbow, with the accompanying groomsmen sporting a matching tie and pocket piece.

Toni-shae was the first National Festival Queen from St. James. She also placed second in the 42nd staging of the Antigua Caribbean Queen Show in Antigua. Toni-shae is a senior demographer at the Planning Institute of Jamaica. Kirk is a GIF engineer at the National Irrigation Commission.

CUTE MEETING

They met while both were working on the Highway 2000 development plan. At their first meeting, she thought he was cute and although he gave her all his numbers, she promptly told him, "It's strictly business". However, their conversations eventually moved beyond the ambit of work. The couple got married exactly one year after Kirk proposed, while they were spending a casual day at the beach.

The newly-weds marked their beginning together with a kiss amid the breath-taking release of 100 butterflies. A still blushing bride told Flair "It was everything we had hoped for."
