THE EDITOR, Sir:
LUTHER BUCHANAN'S victory in Wednesday's by-elections in Eastern Westmoreland augurs well for the future.
It must be remembered that this young man, who is councillor for the Leamington division, has hardly stopped grieving for the sudden loss of his brother, the late Dr. Norman Buchanan who was suddenly taken away from us a few months ago. His death had left a great vacuum to fill.
However, it seems to have impacted the will, ambition and inner genius of Mr. Luther Buchanan to serve the people even more.
It is my humble request that it be conveyed to Mr Buchanan, my most sincere congratulations at his recent triumph at the polls. I am genuinely impressed with the political maturity of Mr. Buchanan at this stage of his political life.
We have watched him develop and advance over the years and wish him well. Our wishes are that at all times his actions and decisions will continue to be based on what is good for the masses, over and above any personal advantage or gratification.
We need not remind the goodly M.P., that the ordinary man and woman is what serving should be all about.
I am, etc.,
